Your mission:
At the heart of our operations, you will be responsible for risk management related to port activities, ship safety, and equipment compliance. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will participate in strategic planning, inventory management, and maintenance of critical equipment. You will also play a key role in continuous improvement projects, and you will ensure compliance with ISO and ISM standards and be involved in LNG operations.
With at least 5 years’ experience on oil tankers, technical expertise in mechanical engineering and strong problem-solving skills, you will take responsibility for complex teams and projects.

More specifically, the Operations Manager has the following main responsibilities:
- Equipment management: Manage equipment inventory and maintenance, ensuring compliance with commercial and safety standards
- Supervision of Arctic operations: Ensuring the safety of vessels while managing the risks associated with port, mooring and shipping activities in this region
- Strategic planning: Actively participate in trade route planning, cargo management, and resource planning
- LNG management: Develop and manage LNG operations, maintain relationships with suppliers and participate in spill exercises
- Budget management: Oversee the Arctic operations budget, including maintenance and inventory of equipment specific to this region
- Training and compliance: Participate in safety and spill response training exercises, and ensure compliance with ISO and other industry standards
- Risk management: Identify and manage operational risks while ensuring smooth communication with teams and partners

Skills required
- College diploma (DEC) or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience on board oil tankers, as an officer or engineer
- Excellent command of mechanical equipment and systems, ability to diagnose and solve complex problems: able to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and be attentive to details that may affect operation performance and safety. Uses tools and equipment to build, repair or maintain systems
- Experience with ships, stevedoring, commercial operations and the maritime industry in general, as well as knowledge of charter contracts
- Experience working in the Canadian Arctic is a major asset
- Experience in managing complex teams and projects, with the ability to inspire commitment
- Good knowledge of ISGOT, ISM, ISO, TMSA and relevant IMO standards
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, in French and English (oral and written)
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, set priorities and react quickly to emergencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Availability and willingness to travel
