Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Category Manager, the Procurement Analyst or Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for conducting all procurement activities necessary to deliver value on their category. 

Main Responsibilities 

Procurement Management

Interact with internal stakeholders, understand their needs and promote value creation  Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process  Develop procurement strategy and supplier market knowledge  Build and lead all aspects of Request for Proposals, evaluate supplier responses and prepare business cases to submit for management approval  Negotiate contracts with suppliers (commercial & legal clauses)   Direct contracts, supplier relationships and supplier performance.  Work with Buyers to ensure all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass etc.)  Ensure that all internal requirements in terms of compliance to procurement policy are meet and addressed  Participate and support department wide projects when required 

Working Conditions 

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires minimal (0 to 20%) travel (infrequent and short trips). The position has a flexible work-from-home policy. 

Requirements 

Experience 

Between 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (Procurement Analyst)  Between 4 to 5 years experience in a similar role (Senior Procurement Specialist) 

 

Education/Certification/Designation 

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Law or equivalent  

Competencies

Technical Skills/Knowledge 

Ability to read and understand basic contract documents  Ability to drive innovative analysis to understand the market trends, cost drivers, suppliers and best practices  Strong technical skills related to data tools & presentation of data   Understand strategic sourcing best practices  Understand P2P  Understand contract structure, terms and conditions and supplier performance principles  Basic understanding of Incoterms, Customs and documentation required for international imports.  Knowledge of commercial aspects of product/service categories   Understand rail transportation or logistic industry*
