Operations Manager

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted March 25, 2025.

Our client, a manufacturing company in constant evolution, is looking to recruit an operations manager to join a passionate team, experienced and committed to excellence!

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement initiatives to improve production, logistics and procurement processes in order to reduce operational costs and optimize the supply chain;
  • Implement standardized processes and procedures to ensure smooth and error-free operations management for all types of orders, including new customers and contracts;
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose corrective actions in case of deviations;
  • Analyse existing tools and systems and propose recommendations for improvement;
  • Supervise production and delivery teams;
  • Train team members to ensure compliance with procedures, safety and efficiency of daily operations;
  • Ensure proper application of occupational health and safety standards;
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure consistency and alignment between the business strategy, such as order picking or delivery;
  • Improve demand forecasting and inventory management to avoid overstocks, stock ruptures, stock turnover and losses;
  • Identify and select suppliers according to the needs of the company, negotiate prices, purchase conditions;
  • Placing orders with suppliers;
  • Track deliveries and manage any delays or errors;
  • Analyze supplier performance and propose improvements;
  • Coordinate production schedules (roasting) according to orders and plant capacities;
  • Improve production schedules to reduce production costs while ensuring product quality and freshness;
  • Improve processes, plant flow and production unit layout to reduce costs and increase efficiency;
  • Design and implement an efficient logistics system to maximize synergies between the two divisions;
  • Identify and deploy solutions to optimize the management of goods flows, from receipt to delivery;
  • Prepare and organize delivery routes and schedules to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs;
  • Book the carriers.

Requirements

  • CPA required, or in the process of being obtained;
  • Degree in operations management, logistics or related field;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Team management;
  • Ability to train and motivate employees;
  • Skills in process and tool development and implementation;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
  • Time management;
  • Initiative;
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently;
  • English (50% communication in English as they have branches in Alberta).
