Senior Digital & Data Architect

CGI Group

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted September 8, 2024.

Position Description:

Lead the development of our client's data program, focusing on Data Management Architecture, Governance, Master Data Strategy, Analytics, Digital Development, and Data Consolidation.
Participate in ERP consolidation workshops to ensure alignment between the ERP strategy and the overall Data Strategy.
Perform Data Architecture support for projects and enhancements, ensuring the integration and alignment of data strategies with our client s overarching business objectives.
Craft and execute data management, architecture, integration, and governance strategies, particularly in organizations of similar scale and complexity as our client.
Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, documentation, and maintenance of databases and related systems; create database storage structures, resolve database issues, and maintain system security.
Support the development and implementation of business applications that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
Monitor daily operations of data loads, identify data discrepancies, and resolve data quality issues.
Collaborate with business partners to transform business requirements into specific ETL, reporting, and data validation designs.
Design relational databases to support business enterprise applications, and perform physical data modeling according to project requirements.
Work closely with internal and external personnel, including system architects, software developers, database administrators, and information modeling experts to strategize development and implementation timelines.
Review existing data architectures to assess effectiveness, compliance with objectives, and develop strategies for improvement.
Research and recommend new technologies, data modeling methods, and information management systems for potential incorporation into our client s data architectures.

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Data Architecture, Information Management, or a similar field.
At least five years of experience in DBA/data development and data architecture.
Proven experience in setting up and leading data programs in large organizations, with a strong understanding of ERP systems and their integration with data strategies.
Proficient with PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
Strong experience with data modeling tools and data warehouse architecture techniques.
Strong communication skills and experience in bridging business and technical resources, including ERP systems.
Demonstrates careful attention to quality and accuracy in data processes.
Creative problem-solver with a strong ability to collect business requirements and develop data models.
