The Opportunity

This position is responsible to lead the QA Fund Operations team in the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) Canada Operations. Please note that this is not a traditional IT support, business analyst or project management role.

GWAM Canada Operations team is seeking a Manager, Business Support, who will be responsible to support the Fund Operations Admin team by implementing VPA system enhancements, and other business-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leading an engaged team through coaching, recognition, recruitment, and development, while working on your own tasks and initiatives.

  • Providing leadership by handling projects and initiatives through the agile working model, while ensuring they are delivered within the agreed upon timeline.

  • Handle deliverables, development, and team capacity.

  • Communicating effectively and regularly to a varied audience of direct reports, peers, and senior management on issues, changes, delays.

  • Proactively interacting and communicating with collaborators and build strong relationships with partners.

  • Establish and adhere to process related to risk & controls, data governance and system development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Demonstrating your analytical and critical thinking skills to ask questions, understand our business drivers and needs, and bring order to a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently.

  • Using your own technical skills to work on projects or collaborate with the team to gain efficiencies.

  • Communicating project status updates to management, colleagues and peers.

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or Computer Science with a minimum of (7-10) years of relevant experience.

  • Enjoy supporting other teams/peers with problems and helping to bring groups together to address issues and facilitate resolution.

  • Excellent relationship and collaborator management skills – build trust.

  • Consider operational risks and ensure effective controls are in place for your team.

  • Can clearly articulate business needs between technical and non-technical resources as well as present strategy and vision to senior management

  • Resilient, adaptable to change and lead others through change.

  • Quick leaner that picks up new ideas, concepts, technologies, and tools easily

  • Dedicated to continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office suite

  • Effectively consider downstream and collaborator impacts and can coach your team to do the same.

  • Shown ability to collaborate and negotiate with various team members with competing priorities.

  • Comfortable driving solution progress forward – even when your team doesn’t have all the answers yet.

Assets

  • Knowledge of the fund life cycle and fund operations

  • Related experience with leading teams that are in a supportive role to help enable teams, peers, collaborators to deliver and run the business.

  • Strong knowledge of financial services operations and/or systems

  • Bilingualism, written and spoken.

  • Knowledge of VPA and Trust Accounting.

Bilingual (French & English) is required – The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between

$81,450.00 CAD – $146,610.00 CAD
