BI (Business Intelligence) Programmer/Developer

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted October 15, 2024.

As a BI Programmer, you will play a key role in analyzing and transforming data to create decision-making dashboards and provide critical reports to the users of the GEM-CAR Cloud software. You will be responsible for integrating BI systems into our SaaS platform based on PHP and MySQL. You will collaborate with our development and product teams to optimize the user experience through efficient and intuitive data visualizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Designed and developed BI modules for the GEM-CAR Cloud software.
  • Integrate dashboards and customized reports into the user interface.
  • Analyze user needs and design suitable BI solutions (KPI, reporting, analytics).
  • Optimize MySQL queries and ensure smooth database integration.
  • Collaborate with backend and frontend teams for efficient feature integration.
  • Perform maintenance and updates on existing BI systems.
  • Develop automated reporting solutions for internal users and clients.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with confidentiality standards (GDPR, etc.).

Desired Profile:

  • Experience: 3 years or more in PHP and MySQL development, with a specialization in Business Intelligence.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in PHP and MySQL.
    • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or open-source solutions.
    • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and ETL processes (Extraction, Transformation, Loading).
    • Ability to design complex reports and interactive dashboards.
    • Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
    • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party service integrations.

  • Assets:
    • Knowledge of PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
    • Experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS for visual integration.
    • Familiarity with best practices in data management and security protocols.

  • Personal Qualities:
    • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
