Senior Compensation Systems Analyst

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted September 8, 2024.

Position Description:

The Senior Compensation Systems Analyst is a data investigator, expert communicator, and problem-solver who will play a key analytical and technical role in the administration of various compensation programs and systems (e.g. salary reviews, profit sharing).
The Senior Analyst must learn the details of compensation programs and be able to produce global data analyses as requested. This includes ensuring the funding of the profit-sharing plan is accurate through understanding employee data and the system’s calculation logic and investigating variances.
The Senior Analyst will translate compensation programs into technology that is accurate and offers a seamless user experience. The Senior Analyst will improve the global compensation team’s efficiency by asking questions about work practices and proposing solutions that enable automation and streamlining administration of compensation cycles. The Senior Analyst creates technical and gap analyses to describe how implementing specific technologies can benefit a compensation system.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers and IT project managers to develop and enhance systems and processes.
• Identify and address risks and issues affecting projects.
• Apply knowledge of data systems and analytics to solve business-related issues.
• Facilitate the transition of requirements to the IT team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Education: Typically, a relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Technical, Computer Science, Business, or related fields.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
• Experience: Providing input into process improvement activities and serving as a subject matter expert.
• Investigator and problem solver:
o Plays detective to find issues/bugs in systems
o Can find and resolve inconsistencies
o Detail oriented: looks into everything and how it’s related
o Able to think of all aspects of a system and write thorough test scripts
o Identify acceptance tests and scope
• Expert communicator
o Be a subject matter expert and respond to client questions during the complex global year-end compensation processes
o Clearly articulate the business needs in a way the IT development team will understand
o Influence without authority
• 4+ years of experience in reporting and data analysis.
• Language: English essential
• Compensation experience is an asset
• Microsoft .Net/C# programming language is an asset
