Intern, External Reporting

Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, External Reporting position in Montreal, QC from May – Aug 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, External Reporting is involved in the administration of day-to-day financial activities including assisting on the production of accurate consolidated and non-consolidated financial records in accordance with the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP).

Major Responsibilities Assist with month-end closing for complex areas of accounting including preparing account reconciliations Participate in the quarter-end planning process Assist with compiling and maintaining month-end checklists, including financial statement disclosure, on designated areas and assist other team members during quarterly and annual close process Participate in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reports Participate in the review of quarterly presentations for various departments Work closely with auditors to provide information and clarification during external audits Requirements Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)* Inspires through impactful communication Solves problems using analytical thinking Planning and organization skills Makes informed and timely decisions Tracks metrics and is accountable Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Experience in data analytics and reporting* Education Working towards or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
